A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds for our children's place.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Correction the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the 2009‑2010 fiscal year and the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the 2010‑2011 fiscal year for Our Children's Place, a nonprofit corporation established to create a "prison mothers" program for female inmates and their children. These funds shall be used to hire a program specialist for female inmate programs.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2009.
