A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds to provide assistance to community resource councils at prison units throughout the state.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Correction the sum of twenty‑five thousand dollars ($25,000) for the 2009‑2010 fiscal year and the sum of twenty‑five thousand dollars ($25,000) for the 2010‑2011 fiscal year to provide assistance to community resource councils at various facilities within the Division of Prisons. Community resource councils stimulate community involvement and promote volunteerism at prison units throughout the State.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2009.
