A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO THE Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services, TO PROVIDE A STATE/FEDERAL MATCH FOR ADDITIONAL CAP/MR‑DD SLOTS.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services, the sum of ten million dollars ($10,000,000) for the 2009‑2010 fiscal year.  These funds shall be used to fund additional CAP/MR‑DD slots to reduce the current wait list for these slots.  Priority for these funds shall be given to Tier 1 waiver slots created by the Department of Health and Human Services.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2009.
