A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to require county departments of social services to follow the placements and review the cases of juveniles in their custody.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  G.S. 7B‑505 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:

"(e) When a juvenile is placed in nonsecure custody with the department of social services pursuant to this section, the department of social services shall follow the placement and review the case of the juvenile for whom the department of social services has taken custody throughout final disposition of the case or until permanency is achieved."

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
