HOUSE BILL 396
AN ACT to change the name of the edgecombe county school system.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Chapter 404 of the 1991 Session Laws, as supplemented by Chapter 468 of the 1993 Session Laws, reads as rewritten:
"Section 1. Effective Date.
The existing Edgecombe County School Administrative Unit (hereinafter referred
to as the "county unit") and the existing Tarboro City School
Administrative Unit (hereinafter referred to as the "city unit")
shall be merged effective July 1, 1993. The resulting merged
administrative unit shall be known as the
Edgecombe County School
Administrative Unit Edgecombe County Public School System (hereinafter
referred to as the "merged unit")."
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2003.
In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 2nd day of June, 2003.
