A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT providing for a moratorium on annexations into hoke county by municipalities outside the county and a moratorium on the exercise of extraterritorial jurisdiction powers in the county by municipalities outside the county.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  No municipality located outside of Hoke County may adopt any annexation ordinance, resolution of consideration, or resolution of intent under Article 4A of Chapter 160A of the General Statutes as to any territory within Hoke County.

SECTION 2.  No municipality located outside of Hoke County may exercise its extraterritorial jurisdiction powers under G.S. 160A‑360 within Hoke County.

SECTION 3.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
