A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds for capital improvements at the historic thalian hall.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Incorporated, the sum of one million dollars ($1,000,000) for the 2008‑2009 fiscal year for capital improvements.  These funds shall be used for renovation and expansion of a new theatre and the main stage of the historic Thalian Hall, which is listed on the National Register for Historic Places.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2008.
