Overview: Sec. 12G.3 of S.L. 2016-94 amends hospital licensure requirements by requiring hospital licenses granted by the Department of Health and Human Services to include only facilities, premises, buildings, outpatient clinics, and other locations operated by the licensee in a single county and adjoining counties, if certain conditions are met. Facilities, premises, buildings, outpatient clinics, and other locations operated by the licensee in an immediately adjoining county must be covered under the license only if the licensee demonstrates there was previously only one hospital in the immediately adjoining county and that hospital stopped providing services no more than three years prior to the licensee requesting a license.

This section became effective July 1, 2016.
