AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE IMPROVEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE CASWELL BURIAL SITE IN LENOIR COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  There is hereby appropriated the sum of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00) from the general fund to the Department of Archives and History to be expended by it with other funds for the care and maintenance of land owned by the State on which the grave of Governor Richard Caswell is located, and for capital improvements thereon.

Sec. 2.  The sum of twenty‑five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) appropriated by the 1957 General Assembly by Chapter 1348, Public Laws, as above stated, and which is now held by the State Department of Archives and History shall not revert in the event for any reason the appropriation provided for in this Act shall not be effective; but the said amount of twenty‑five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) shall continue to be held by the State Department of Archives and History and shall be expended for the benefit of the Richard Caswell Memorial, as provided by law.

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
