AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 105‑85 TO LIMIT LAUNDRY LICENSE TAXES LEVIED BY CITIES AND TOWNS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 105‑85, as the same appears in the 1959 Cumulative Supplement to Replacement Volume 2C of the General Statutes, is hereby amended by adding to the end of the fifth paragraph from the end of said Section a new sentence to read as follows:

"Cities and towns may levy a license tax not in excess of fifty dollars ($50.00) on any other person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of laundry work and/or supplying or renting clean linen or towels or wearing apparel."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be effective on and after June 1, 1962.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 22nd day of June, 1961.
