HOUSE BILL 1037

AN ACT RELATING TO PROVISIONS FOR COLLECTION OF GARBAGE IN DARE COUNTY.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. In order to exercise the powers contained in House Bill 417, entitled "An Act to Authorize Counties to Regulate the Collection of Garbage", ratified May 26, 1961, the Board of County Commissioners of Dare County is authorized, in its discretion, to levy and collect such ad valorem tax on property subject to ad valorem taxation as it deems wise and expedient, but such tax shall be levied and collected only with respect to those areas of the county in which the county provides garbage collection service.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
