As of October 2020, the General Assembly has enacted legislation based on 48 of PED’s 104 evaluations.
- The General Assembly has proposed 98 bills based on 79 of PED's reports.
- The General Assembly has enacted 55 laws based on 48 of PED's reports.
From 2008 through October 2020, the Program Evaluation Division (PED) has recommended $169.8 million in recurring savings and $122.1 million in non-recurring savings to the State. At present, division recommendations adopted by its directing committee, the Joint Legislative Program Evaluation Oversight Committee (JLPEOC), and implemented by agencies or the General Assembly save the State $38.6 million annually. An additional $44.1 million in non-recurring savings also have been implemented based on PED’s recommendations. PED’s 2019–20 annual recurring budget was $1.8 million, for an annual recurring benefit-to-cost ratio of more than 21 to 1.
