A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to modify the current operations and capital appropriations act of 2007.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
PART I. INTRODUCTION AND TITLE OF ACT
INTRODUCTION
SECTION 1. The appropriations made in this act are for maximum amounts necessary to provide the services and accomplish the purposes described in the budget. Savings shall be effected where the total amounts appropriated are not required to perform these services and accomplish these purposes and, except as allowed by the Executive Budget Act, or this act, the savings shall revert to the appropriate fund at the end of each fiscal year.
TITLE OF ACT
SECTION 2. This act shall be known as the "Current Operations Appropriations and Capital Improvements Appropriations Act of 2008".
PART II. CURRENT OPERATIONS AND EXPANSION/GENERAL FUND
SECTION 3. Appropriations from the General Fund of the State for the maintenance of the State departments, institutions, and agencies, and for other purposes, shall be made for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, in accordance with the provisions of this act. Modifications of the State budget may affect the appropriations of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of State government for the 2008-2009 fiscal year.
PART III. CURRENT OPERATIONS AND EXPANSION/HIGHWAY FUND
SECTION 4. Appropriations from the Highway Fund of the State for the maintenance and operation of the Department of Transportation, and for other purposes, shall be made for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, in accordance with the provisions of this act.
PART IV. HIGHWAY TRUST FUND
SECTION 5. Appropriations from the Highway Trust Fund shall be made for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, according to the provisions of this act.
PART V. OTHER MODIFICATIONS
SECTION 6. Any other modifications of the biennial State budget and other changes related to the fiscal operations of the State shall be included in this act.
PART VI. EFFECTIVE DATE
SECTION 7. This act becomes effective July 1, 2008.
