A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT appropriating funds to the early childhood initiatives (smart start).
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services the sum of forty-four million seven hundred thousand dollars ($44,700,000) for the 2007-2008 fiscal year for the purpose of expanding the statewide early childhood initiatives as established by G.S. 143B-168.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2007.
