A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to study the adequacy of current consumer protections for business opportunity and FRANCHISE sales.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  The Legislative Research Commission is authorized to study the adequacy of current consumer protections for business opportunity and franchise sales in this State.  In conducting the study, the Commission may consider the proposed reforms found in House Bill 2036 of the 2010 Regular Session of the 2009 General Assembly.

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
