A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to prohibit sex offenders from being emergency medical services personnel.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  G.S. 131E-159 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:

"(h)       An individual who is required under Article 27A of Chapter 14 of the General Statutes to register as a sex offender shall not be granted EMS credentials and shall not have the person's EMS credentials renewed."

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
