SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 369

A JOINT RESOLUTION To Confirm The Governor's Reappointment of Joseph A. Smith to the Office of Commissioner of Banks.

Whereas, G.S. 53-92(a) directs the Governor to quadrennially appoint a Commissioner of Banks, subject to confirmation by the General Assembly by joint resolution; and

Whereas, the term of the current Commissioner of Banks, Joseph A. Smith, shall expire on March 31, 2011; and

Whereas, the Governor wishes to reappoint Joseph A. Smith to the office of Commissioner of Banks to serve until March 31, 2015; and

Whereas, the Governor has submitted the name of Joseph A. Smith by February 1, 2011, as required by G.S. 53-92(a); Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

SECTION 1.  The Governor's reappointment of Joseph A. Smith of Wake County to the office of Commissioner of Banks is hereby confirmed for a term expiring on March 31, 2015.

SECTION 2.  This resolution is effective upon ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 5^th day of April, 2011.
