North Carolina House Page Program
"Youth Learning through Serving"
Qualifications and Application

In order to be a House Page you must:
  • Be between the ages of 15 and 18 years old (or 14 and currently in the ninth grade).
  • Have not served as a House Page previously.
  • Be sponsored by a Member of the North Carolina House of Representatives.
  • Be in good academic standing at your school.
  • Have prior approval by the principal of your school if you are appointed to serve as a Page during the school year.
When to Apply
  • Applications for the 2018 legislative session are now available online and at the house page office.
  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until all positions for the session are full.
  • During the application and acceptance process, the Home Page will reflect when applications are no longer being accepted. A House Page Schedule will be made available on the Home Page to show the dates that still have availability.
How to Apply
  • Contact Your Representative and request his or her sponsorship. It is preferred that you contact the Representative for the district in which you live. Find Your Representative (enter your home address)
  • The student should completely fill out the application online, save, print and “wet” sign it. The application is available here.
  • The selection process is quite competitive and not all who apply will be appointed. Each Representative may have his or her own criteria which they use to select Pages for appointment.
Notification of Appointment

If appointed, the student will receive an official letter of appointment from the Speaker of the House along with a packet including all necessary information and materials. Read it immediately and respond as directed.
