S257 - Appropriations Act of 2017. (SL 2017-57)

Overview: Section 19.1 of S.L. 2017-57 removes the North Carolina Military Affairs Commission (Commission) from a commission established within the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) to one assigned to the Department solely for the provision of administrative services and prohibits the Secretary of DMVA from performing any of the Commission's management functions. This section of the act also provides that the use of funds in the Military Presence Stabilization Fund must be approved by the Commission. This section of the act became effective on July 1, 2017.
