Overview: Section 5.2(a) through (c) of S.L. 2017-212 specify that the district attorney only represents the State in district and superior courts, and restricts the authority of the Attorney General to delegate the duty to represent the State in the Appellate Division.

This act became effective July 1, 2017. Actions taken by the office of a District Attorney related to a criminal appeal delegated to that office on or after July 1, 2017, shall be deemed to have been taken with full legal authority to act on behalf of the State.
