S257 - Appropriations Act of 2017. (SL 2017-57)

Overview: S.L. 2017-57, Sec. 10.11, in compliance with federal law, requires in-state tuition be provided to the following individuals if their abode is in North Carolina and they provide a letter of intent to establish residency in North Carolina: (i) recipients using transferred Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits (38 U.S.C. Sec. 3319) while the transferor is on active duty in the Armed Forces, the commissioned corps of the U.S. Public Health Service, or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; and (ii) recipients of the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship (38 U.S.C. Sec. 3311(b)(9)).
